Time and Work Introduction :
Working Time: The total number of days it takes to complete a piece of work is called working time.
Ex: If A can do a piece of work in 20 days, then the working time of A = 20 days.
Working Capacity: A part of the work that has been done in a period of time or per day work is called Working capacity.
Ex: If A can do a piece of work in 20 days, then the working capacity of A = 1/20.
∴ Working Time ∝ 1/Working Capacity.
Time and Work Basic Formulas:
- if A can complete work in x days and B can Complete the work in y days, then A and B working together on the same piece of work will be completed in xy/(x+y).
- If M1 persons can do W1 work in D1 days and M2 persons can do W2 work in D2 days then we have a formula in the relationship of M1D1W2 =M2D2W1
From the above formula, we can derive (i) M1D1T1W2 =M2D2T2W1 (ii)M1D1T1E1W2 = M2D2T2E2W1
Here T = Time and E = efficiency
